Recommended Side Quests in FFXV
Final Fantasy XV regularly gives you the chance to explore the big and beautiful world of Eos to your heart content. During the journey, you will find a lot of people who are in need of help (marked by the yellow question mark in the world map). Simply talk to them to trigger the side quest.

Although side quests are a good way to gain EXP, Gil, items, story, and character progression, they are totally optional. It is possible to complete the game without completing even a single side quest. Also, there is no limitation of how many side quests you can accept.
There are over 200 side quests available in Final Fantasy XV. Completing all of them can easily take more than 100 hours of gameplay.
Dave is the hunter you meet in Chapter 1. Being a hunter, he tends to travel all over the world, and your mission is to find and give him a dog tag. Rewards from completing Dave’s quests are EXP and healing items.
Cid is a master of mechanic who can do all kinds of mechanical work from repairing Regalia to upgrading your weapons. He usually stays at the Hammerhead. Bring him material and he will upgrade your weapons without any cost.
Cindy is your personal car mechanic. In addition to repairing and customizing the Regalia, she will ask you to bring her components to upgrade Regalia from wax to engine, and even beam light.
You meet Dino in Chapter 1 in Galdin Quay. He is a jeweler and regularly asks you to bring him stones. Completing his side quests rewards you with EXP and accessories.
Sania is a biologist who is travelling around the Kingdom of Lucis to find all rare and exotic species. You will first meet her in Coernix Station. Her quests are about catching frogs and finding animal part. Sania quests provide a great amount of EXP with accessories. Totally recommend for leveling.
Navyth is a very kind fisherman who gives you fishing equipment just for being his fisherman’ friend and catching a rare fish with him. He first can be found in Duecae. Navyth quest rewards are all related to fishing gear.
Wiz is the owner of the Wiz Chocobo Post. His side quests are available after helping him with the deadeye Behemoth problem. Wiz loves the Chocobo to his heart and regularly asks you to help the wild Chocobo.
Vyx is a fat journalist who is staying in Lestallum. Vyx side quests are about taking photos on many important locations over the Eos from the Disc to the Royal Tomb, and even the Imperial Army bases. Vyx quests provide a good amount of EXP with tons of Gil.
These vendors in Lestallum usually have a problem with their stock. Sometimes they delivery vans get attacked by monsters, they need new supplies, or their contacts with hunters are lost. Helping them on these problems and they will decrease their price in return.
You will meet Holly in Chapter 8. She works in a power plant and regularly needs a helping hand on the power related task. Her side quests involve fixing pipes, pylon, and lights. Assisting Holly rewards a good amount of EXP and Gil.
In addition, sometimes your friends, including Prompto, Gladiolus, Ignis, Iris, and even a cat give you a quest as well such as helping Ignis on the the pilgrimage, finding the best cup noodle with Gladiolus, planting carrots with Iris, cooking a food for a cat, and more.
During your journey in the Kingdom of Lucis, there are many people who are in danger and need your help. In this type of side quests, your main assignment is to rescue them either by locating and healing them with a potion. Quest reward is normally a small amount of EXP and Gil
Similar to the rescue quests, some people are very unfortunate that their car become broken during their roadtrip. You can help them buy giving a car repair tool which can be bought from any shop in the gas station. Quest rewards are normally a small amount of EXP and Gil
Scraps of Mystery
This is considered as a hidden quest in Final Fantasy XV. To trigger the quest, you need to find 14 mystery papers hidden over all the Eos. Each paper leads to a different scrap of mystery. After finding all 14 scraps, the quest will take you to a treasure spot with great rewards
Since Prompto is a party personal photographer, he loves to keep all memory during the roadtrip with his camera as much as possible. Whenever the party passes scenery locations, he will ask permission from Noctis to go there and take a picture with everyone.
While resting in some locations, mostly camping havens, one of the Noctis friend will ask him to do a special assignment in the morning such as running with Gladiolus, cooking with Ignis, and taking a photo with Prompto. This type of quest does not give EXP nor Gil but 20 AP points instead.
